Katharina was on a stone up in the Deserted Village of Achill Island. Suddenly, somebody talked to her.

"Excuse me, Katharina from Bonn?"

"Yes, that's me. Who are you? I can remember your face but not your name."

"Jenny Hertz from Kassel. Do you remember the last 'documenta'? We met there. What for heaven's sake are you doing here?"

"I received an invitation for the auction, but actually I'm here to meet Brian O'Donnell. He should tell me something about my grandparents. He knew them a long time ago! And you?"

"I want to write an article about the auction. But actually, I'm more intersted in my Irish roots. There exists a photo, [link to Henrike Taupitz, Team Kassel, "Sense and Sensibility"] taken in 1959 in the former GDR, showing three Irish Irish men who came as a communist delegation to Zwickau."

"That's weird. Both of us meet here looking for our roots. I received a strange diary from my grandfather after he had died. I learned that I've got Irish roots, too. Wait a minute, I'll show you."

Katharina opened her handbag and took out the book. While she was doing so, a photo fell on the ground. Jenny picked it up.

"Who is that on this photo?"

"That are my grandparents."

"So this is your grandfather? He was on the photo I talked about."

"Then it was your mother's house where my grandfather and his friendsmet in 1959 in the GDR. I read a passage in the diary about it."

"I cant' believe that I finally know who my father is. He's living on this island, but is he still alive?"

"He was alive when my grandfather wrote the diary in last July."

"I have to fnd him!"

"I wish you all the best. Are you coming to the auction, anyway?"

"Yes, sure. We'll meet each other then. See you."

"See you." Jenny walked down the hill. Katharina stayed in the Deserted Village sitting on a stone, watching Jenny disappearing.
